Alford ring-complex consists of a central boss of porphyritic microdiorite, granophyre and andesite, with a semicircular zone of rhyolitic and trachytic ring-dykes intrusive into upturned sandstones, and cross-cutting non-arcuate dykes of rhyolite, comendite, trachyte, andesite, phonolite and basalt.
