Title: Irreversible processes and a new model for the Universe
Abstract: A model for the Universe is proposed where the general relativity is modified in order to explain the irreversible evolution of the Universe. At the same time, the dichotomy matter-field of the Einstein equation is eliminated and the physical world is described only by means of a unified field. The Universe evolution is characterized by an oscillation or exponential expansion with or without the initial singularity. In this framework, the Universe evolution is irreversible and the entropy increase is strictly associated with matter production according to the Prigogine’s ideas. High redshift supernovae recent observations are compatible with this new model.
