Title: Are the Positive-Parity Mesons in the 405 Multiplet?
Abstract: The 405 multiplet mass formulas, derived previously, are used to predict the masses of the positive-parity mesons. Using three ${2}^{+}$ mesons (${f}_{0}$, ${A}_{2}$, ${K}^{**}$) as input, the ${f}^{\ensuremath{'}}$ is predicted in agreement with experiment, and the states of the ${2}^{+}$27-plet are found to lie higher, but in the accessible experimental region. The existence of the 27-plet states is a clear test of whether the 405 multiplet exists. When the ${1}^{+}$ mesons $D(1286)$ and $E(1420)$ are taken together with the three ${2}^{+}$ mesons as input, the remaining $J={0}^{+}, {1}^{+}$ mesons are predicted. Mass-difference equalities are presented and comparison is made with experiment.
