Computational advantages of structured data are reviewed. Properties of uniform Cartesian (structured) grids that lead to substantial computational advantages are identified. A grid component grouping algorithm is presented. A method of adaptive spatial partitioning and refinement (ASPaR) is used with the grouping algorithm to simulate unsteady viscous flow about two 3-dimensional test configurations.Read More
