Title: Relating the Psychological Literature to American Psychological Association Ethical Standards
Abstract: The psychological literature frequently elaborates ethical principles and standards and highlights the complexity of many ethical issues. The American Psychological Association code of ethics (American Psychological Association, 1992) directs psychologists to become familiar with the code and its implications for their work. A computerized search strategy is described for identifying and organizing published articles dealing with ethical issues. Specifically, we report the development of a search strategy for use with the journal literature database contained on PsycLIT(CD-ROM). The search terms identify ethics articles and categorize them according to Ethical Standards 2 through 8 of the 1992 code.
