Both sulfanilamide and colchicine induce polyploidy, but colchicine is more effective since it results in a greater percentage of polyploid cells and a higher degree of polyploidy. Sulfanilamide (0.5%), unlike colchicine (0.1%), inhibits the entrance of cells into mitosis. Colchicine results in multipolar mitosis; sulfanilamide does not.Read More
