Title: Magnetic moment and curie temperature of the Ni3Al1−xMnx solid solution
Abstract: Measurements have been performed on the magnetic properties of the ordered phase in the Ni3Al1−xMnx solid solution with x = 0, 0.04, 0.12, 0.20, 0.36, 0.60 and 0.80. Both the spontaneous magnetization at 4.2 K and the Curie temperature increase monotonically with increasing Mn concentration up to 15 at%. This behavior is discussed in terms of the atomic environment around the Mn atom. The increase of the Curie temperature is attributed to an introduction of ferromagnetic Ni-Mn pair interactions, while the increase of the number of Mn atoms having a localized magnetic moment reflects on the change of spontaneous magnetization.
