It has been shown that about one‐half of the polyolefinic unsaturation isomerized during the sodium reduction to conjugated double bonded structures. The higher unsaturated alcohols were selectively hydrogenated to give a colorless product which was substantially odorless and which had an average of one double bond per molecule.Read More
