Title: Lessons of Downtown Revitalization Plans in Korea
Abstract: The state's capital cities in Korea have experienced downtown decline since the 1990s. In this article, the plans for downtown revitalization are introduced and reviewed in a case study of Daejeon Metropolitan City. As a result, the established or partly pursued downtown revitalization approaches are analyzed from both a physical and a socio‐economic aspect, and some lessons for the future direction of downtown planning are suggested under consideration of the Korean urban situation.
