Title: Serum Creatinine May Not Be an Accurate Marker of Glomerular Filtration Rate in Rhabdomyolysis Patient
Abstract: PURPOSE: Creatine is released into the circulation after destruction of muscle cells in rhabdomyolysis patients. As excess circulating creatine forms creatinine, the serum creatinine (SCr) elevation in rhabdomyolysis patients may become disproportionate to the degree of reduction in glomerular filtration rate (GFR).
