Title: U.S. POLICY ON REGULATION OF LINER SHIPPING IN THE 1980S: A VIEW FROM WASHINGTON, PART 1
Abstract: As in Part 1 of this two-part article, major events affecting liner shipping that occurred between the start of the Reagan Administration and 1986 are examined. The actions taken by the Administration are analyzed to determine whether the policy scheme outlined in Part 1 is being followed. The impact that the UNCTAD Code of Conduct has had in compelling the United States to reassess its goals for assertively implementing that policy is examined.
