Title: In situ monitoring of zeolite crystallization by electrical conductivity measurement: New insight into zeolite crystallization mechanism
Abstract: Electrical conductivity of zeolite synthesis mixtures during zeolite crystallization has been measured in situ, and the results show that the onset of zeolite crystallization is accompanied by an abrupt increase in measured conductivity. Leading up to the onset of crystallization, however, electrical conductivity may gradually increase or decrease, depending on whether high- or low-silica synthesis mixtures are used. These results show promise that in situ electrical conductivity measurement can be a new tool for mechanistic studies of zeolite crystallization as well as for practical use in monitoring the process of large scale zeolite synthesis.
