Title: Integrated optimal flow control in traffic networks
Abstract: An optimal control algorithm for solving dynamic, nonlinear, discrete time, linearly constrained optimization problems based on feasible direction search and the reduced gradient is applied to integrated optimal flow control in single destination traffic networks with time-varying demand flows. A numerical example is presented to demonstrate the feasibility of the approach. The results of this work, especially concerning required computation time and demand flows assumptions, are relevant for real-time implementation of the algorithm.
