Title: Using the Stack Impedance Equation to Invert Elastic Parameters
Abstract: Summary The partial stack is now generally applied as an input data for the inversion of elastic impedance in practical application. However, the EI equation is based on a single incident angle, therefore, precise EI inversion should be based on the single incident angle trace, which is strongly influenced by noise when it is extracted from pre-stack CDP gather. So, there is a paradox in the EI equation and the seismic trace applied in practical application, which may cause a certain error and inevitably affects the subsequent inversion of elastic parameters. In order to decrease the influence on the accuracy of elastic parameter inversion caused by the conflict in the EI equation and the seismic trace, this paper presents a method of elastic parameter inversion based on the Stack Impedance theory. Firstly, we introduce the concept of Stack Impedance put forward by Li et al. (2008) . Then, we demonstrate how to take elastic parameter inversion by using stack Impedance bodies with three different angles and show the advantages of our method. Finally, we apply our method to real field data for fluid detection.
