Abstract: Spectroscopic observations are presented for 54 remote OB stars in Puppis, for which UBV photometry has been published by Reed and FitzGerald (1983). The combination of MK spectral classification and the photometric data suggests that the overwhelming majority of these stars lie at a common distance of about 6 kpc from the sun, and may form a physical association. This result prevents using these stars to achieve the original goal of mapping the rotation curve of the outer Galactic disk.
