Title: OPTIMIZATION OF CONFINED AQUIFER PARAMETERS FROM VARIABLE-RATE PUMP-TEST
Abstract: ABSTRACT A derivative based non-linear optimization method for estimation of confined aquifer parameters from variable rate pumping test data has been proposed. The method uses the criteria of least square objective function. Drawdowns due to variable rate pumping have been obtained using discrete kernel approach and analytical expressions for derivatives of drawdown w.r.t. the parameters have been derived. Validity of the method has been verified on constant and variable rate pump-test.
