Abstract: Upon returning home from work, a man finds his 47-year-old wife and their 3 children unconscious in their living room. While checking on his family and trying to determine what has happened, the man begins having a severe headache and malaise, common symptoms of carbon monoxide (CO) toxicity. The husband calls 911 and the whole family is transferred to the emergency department. An investigation conducted by members of the local fire department identifies the source of the CO as a faulty space heater in the basement. Kevin T.
