Title: GHOST IMAGES AS ARTIFACTS IN GAMMA CAMERA SCANS
Abstract: A situation is reported where a ghost image and other collimator artifacts appeared in a gamma camera scan. It is proposed that such artifacts may be eliminated by providing a suitable type of motion of the collimator between the observed source and the detector during image formation. This proposal is supported by a spatial wave form analysis and by an experimental demonstration of the moving collimator principle. Other possible means of collimator artifact elimination are discussed and compared.
