Title: Mechanical properties of solid and liquid polymers
Abstract: The viscoelastic properties of amorphous and semicrystalline polymer solids and polymer melts are reviewed. Each rheology is discussed in a similar manner consistent with well-known concepts of relaxation and retardation spectra. The properties can be associated in most instances with certain structural mechanisms. Temperature dependence is discussed and practical examples are included to illustrate the use of the information for engineering applications.
