Description: The present investigation utilised monoclonal antibodies directed against subunits of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor in immunoblot and immunoprecipitation studies, which failed to demonstrate that the native 5-hydroxytryptamine3 (5-HT3) receptor complex purified from porcine brain contains the α1, α3, α4, α5, α7 or β2 subunits of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor.
