Abstract: Antarctic researchers have a chance to direct how the National Science Foundation's new icebreaker vessel, the Nathaniel B. Palmer, will be used in the Antarctic. NSF invites comments on the research ship's schedule and management, especially to guide its use in “big or small” oceanography, said Bernhard Lettau, NSF program manager for polar ocean and climatic sciences, at the U.S. Antarctic Program's annual orientation September 14–16.
