Title: Performance of some indeterminate type breeding lines of field pea (<i>Pisum sativum</i>L.) under midhills of Sikkim
Abstract: Fifteen field pea lines were evaluated for six yield related characters and reaction to powdery mildew disease under natural epiphytotic conditions. The entries show significant variability for plant height, days to 50% flowering, days to maturity and yield per plot while non-significant variance was observed for number of primary branches and pods per plant. Heritability in broad sense was high for days to 50% flowering (89.3%), days to maturity (93%) and yield per plot (96.2%). The narrow differences were noted between PCV and GCV for days to 50% flowering, days to maturity and yield per plot. The disease severity among the different lines ranged from 0 to 68.75 %. Lines F10-131, F10-139, F10-127, F10-136, F10-140, F10-142 and F10-121 showed immune reaction with no observable disease symptoms.
