The process involves the cascading of several 2-port scattering matrices for overmoded circular and coaxial waveguides with abrupt radial wall transitions and the main cavity section, which is modelled as a 4-port device. The formulations to find the resonant frequencies and transmission properties of re-entrant cavities are both given. The technique is used to evaluate the performance of a high power klystron cavity and a choke flange. A comparison of this approach with another numerical technique is made.Read More
