Title: Design for fabrication of a d.c. chopper for energy conservation in d.c. drives
Abstract: A thyristor chopper for speed control of d.c. motors has been described and designed. The chopper consists of thyristor circuits which convert power between a constant voltage d.c. input and a variable voltage d.c. output. It requires low power trigger circuits for generating the firing sequence to drive the gates of the thyristors. The chopper controller has the advantage of conserving input electrical energy over the conventional controller.
