Title: Contribution of Middle Jurassic Coals to South Viking Graben Gas and Condensate Accumulations
Abstract: The problem of the generation and, moreover, the expulsion of liquid hydrocarbons from coals is still debated in the literature. In order to verify whether coats and coaly shales (source rocks) have contributed to the accumulation of gas-condensaten in the Sleipner Area, a geochemical modelling approach (generation and expulsion) was tested on coals, using precalibrated thermal histories.
