The calculated half‐life (6–9 days) is similar to that of mitochondria and of the other mitochondrial enzyme of the urea cycle, carbamoyl‐phosphate synthase. Therefore, both mitochondrial urea cycle enzymes are most probably degraded mainly via the lysosomal (autophagic) pathway of mitochondrial protein degradation.Read More
