Abstract: Naval Engineers JournalVolume 86, Issue 2 p. 29-35 UPGRADING THE PROPULSIVE EFFICIENCY OF SINGLE-SCREW SUPERTANKERS ROBERT TAGGART, ROBERT TAGGART The author graduated from Webb Institute in 1942, receiving his BS degree in Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering. He has been employed by the Maritime Commission, the Naval Research Laboratory, the Army Transportation Corps, BUSHIPS, and Reed Research, Inc., and during World War II was an Officer in the US Navy. He has been engaged in research and development work for the past 25 years, all of which has been related to naval engineering and oceanography. In 1958 he formed his own Company, Robert Taggart Incorporated. An active Member in ASNE, he has served two terms on the Council, and has been a member of the Nominating, Banquet, Awards, and By-laws Revision Committees of the Society. For the past 10 years he has been a member of the Council for the Flagship Section, and also served as the Section's Chairman from 1971 until 1972.
