Abstract: The mass flow rate of air passing through a solid plug can be calculated using the pressure in front and behind the plug. Therefore, it is also possible to predict the pressure of an air plug using the mass flow rate of air passed through a solid plug. This report shows a method of calculating actual solid plug behavior from the time solid plugs are produced until they move inside a pipeline and are discharged from it. It also analyzes the plug motion for forecasting transport efficiency as well as other parameters.
