Title: The Relationships Between Population Increase and Population Density in Plant Parasitic Nematodes
Abstract: Wenn eine Nematodenbevolkerung von Dichte P die Nahrungsmenge fur die Nematoden, die von der Wirtspflanze erzeugt wird, verringert nach der Gleichung y = czP (y = das Verhaltnis zwischen Nahrungsmengen, die bei Bevolkerungsdichte P und bei Abwesenheit von Nematoden erzeugt werden, c = eine Konstante > 1 und z = eine Konstante < 1), dann ist die Gleichgewichtdichte Ep des Nematoden auf einer Pflanze, geschadigt durch eine Dichte P des Nematoden, Ep = czPEmax (Emax = die Gleichgewichtdichte des Nematoden auf der nicht geschadigten Pflanze). Gleichung (3) von Seinhorst, (1966) fur die Beziehung zwischen Bevolkerungsdichten eines sich kontinuierlich fortpflanzenden Nematoden bei Anfang und Ende einer gewissen Zeitspanne, Pi und Pf wird dann fur diese Beziehung auf einer Wirtspflanze, die vom Nematoden geschadigt wird. Gleichung (17) von Seinhorst (1967) fur die Beziehung zwischen den Bevolkerungsdichten von zwei auf einander folgenden Generationen einer Nematodenart, die sich in getrennten Generationen fortpflanzt, Pi und Pf wird worin q = eine Konstante < 1 und In naturlicher Logarithmus andeutet. Beide Gleichungen treffen nur zu wenn czPi < 1. Ergebnisse von Topfversuchen mit Heterodera rostochiensis an Kartoffeln durch Peters (1961), Rao & Peachey (1965) und den Ouden (1966) stimmen sehr gut mit G. (2) uberein.
