Abstract: The widening application of bone marrow transplantation has necessitated that a broader range of physicians become familiar with the technique, its applications, and complications. Deeg, Klingemann, and Phillips, well-established investigator-clinicians in bone marrow transplantation, have written precisely what the title of this text states: a guide to bone marrow transplantation. Their aim of providing information to hematologists and oncologists who are not routinely involved in transplantation but who may have to assume the responsibility of monitoring a transplant patient is generally achieved.
