Title: Sterility in Sudangrass: II. Random and Nonrandom | Partial‐Sterility1
Abstract: Synopsis Plants classified as having random partial‐sterility possessed normal appearing reproductive organs, although approximately 50% seed failure and 50% pollen abortion occurred. It was believed that this type of sterility was due to cryptic structural hybridity. Abnormal pistil development was characteristic of plants classified as nonrandom partial‐sterile. The breeding hehavior suggested that this character was genie controlled.
