Title: Working together to improve learning: CPD collaboration between highereducation institutes and local education authorities
Abstract: Abstract This article discusses how the University of Surrey Roehampton, United Kingdom, worked with an inner-city education authority to build the skill capacity within the professional community of adviser, inspector and officer teams to support schools in challenging circumstances. Subsequently, training programmes and support for local education authorities have developed from this work and illustrate how an external support system, such as a higher education institution can work in partnership with local government education systems.
