Title: A Rapid Method for the Radiochemical Gross Analysis of Human Urine II A Routine Assay Method Using the Coprecipitation on the Basic Phosphate Precipitates
Abstract: A gross radiochemical urinalysis method is described, which utilizes coprecipitation of gross fission products with basic phosphates that are found in urine. The isotopes Pm/sup 1//sup 4//sup 7/ Zr/sup 9//sup 5/--Nb/sup 9//sup 5/ Ru/sup 1//sup 0//sup 8/Rh/sup 1//sup 0//sup 6/, Sr/sup 9//sup 0/, Co/sup 6//sup 0/ ,Np/sup 2//sup 3/ and I/sup 1//sup 3//sup 1/ are considered. Attention is given to coprecipitation factors in the presence of carriers, desorption of the coprecipitated radioactivity from the precipitate, and lower limits for the detection of Sr/sup 9//sup 0/--Y/sup 9//sup 0/ activity. The method is compared with the wet-ashing process. (T.F.H.)
