Total ozone concentration (TOC) variability is the most characteristic feature of its atmospheric regime. An important subject of our study is interrelation between TOC variability and space-temporal peculiarities of general atmospheric circulation. As a result of examining the correlation analysis data, Basmaov1 has proven that the most intensive positive influence upon TOC is demonstrated by generalized atmospheric circulation groups (Dzerdzeevski's classification), i.e.: latitude-Western and longitude-Northern ones. These groups match the annual ozone cycle, advancing the latter by three months. We have selected the average monthly TOC values (satellite data for the Northern hemisphere), averaged by latitude and longitude. Longitude averaging has been performed for the entire Northern hemisphere as well as its two regions (90° W to 89° E and 90° W, respectively). The differential row for the regions temporal series has been calculated. It is established that the coefficient of correlation between the entire hemisphere's TOC temporal series and the differential row reaches the maximum of R=0.71 if the differential row is moved ahead by three months.Read More
