Abstract: If you have worked with past versions of SharePoint you will know firsthand that SharePoint has improved both dramatically and also gradually over the years. If you worked with Microsoft SharePoint 2003, you might recall that you had to use Microsoft FrontPage 2003 to brand a site. Although the tool was made for the task, it lacked ease of use and it was still difficult to brand multiple sites. With the release of WSS 3.0 and Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007, SharePoint was completely revamped on top of the .NET 2.0 framework, thus allowing SharePoint to make use of .NET 2.0 features such as master pages and page layouts. We were also given a new SharePoint site development and branding tool, SharePoint Designer 2007, a tool more integrated with SharePoint.
