Abstract: Thrombosed oral varices (TOVs) occurred in 12 adults. The TOV is an infrequently reported but probably not uncommon lesion which might be confused clinically with malignant melanoma because of its color amd consistency. The reviewed literature disclosed only one other report of the condition. The thrombosed varix can be found on the skin as well as the oral mucosa.
