Title: Portal hypertension as an independent manifestation of visceral leishmaniasis
Abstract: Visceral leishmaniasis is a protozoal infection seen in tropical regions. We report a case of 32 years old male who presented with high grade fever for 2 months. Upon, extensive work up the patient was diagnosed as a case of visceral leishmaniasis and portal hypertension. The patient was given amphotericin-B and miltefosine. The case highlights the rare conjugation of visceral leishmaniasis and portal hypertension.
