Title: Kinetics of nucleation and crystallization of silicalite
Abstract: Silicalite was synthesized under hydrothermal conditions at temperatures ranging from 353°–453°K. The nucleation and crystallization curves vs. time were obtained. Subsequently, reaction paths and kinetic models of nucleation and crystallization of the silicalite were postulated. Results of experiment and the kinetic models were in fairly good agreement. Furthermore, the activation energies of nucleation and crystallization were determined to be 8.5 and 11.6 Kcal/mole respectively. The silicalites were examined by XRD, IR, TGA and chemical analysis for its identification, bonding nature, template contents and their decomposition in the zeolitic framework.
