Title: A Keratolytic Gel Containing Salicylic Acid in Propylene Glycol
Abstract: Mixtures of propylene glycol and water have been shown to be effective in several types of ichthyosis. A new formulation has been developed which contains a gelling agent, propylene glycol, ethanol, and salicylic acid in distilled water. This gel has been shown to be very effective in removal of thickened stratum corneum in a variety of disorders associated with hyperkeratosis.
