A new complex, but slightly diffuse, absorption has been detected around 2700 Å. This spectrum shows no shift when DN 3 is substituted for HN 3 , and it is attributed to the N 3 radical. The mechanism of the hydrogen azide photolysis is discussed briefly with reference to these observations.Read More
