Title: Characterization of long-chain branching in poly(vinylacetate): a comparison of two methods
Abstract: A commercial sample of poly(vinylacetate) was fractionated by preparative gel permeation chromatography. Molar masses and branching parameters measured by supplementing analytical gel permeation chromatography with viscometry and with ultracentrifugation were in good agreement. No serious errors were introduced by neglecting the difference between the expansions of branched and linear molecules in a good solvent.
