Title: Femtosecond real-time alignment in chemical reactions
Abstract: Femtosecond real-time alignment in dissociation reactions is observed experimentally for HgI2 and ICN. The results are accounted for by the classical theory outlined here. This study adds a new dimension to femtosecond transition-state spectroscopy (FTS), namely the probing of the “vector dynamics” of reactions.
