Title: Hydrothermal synthesis and crystal structure of a new mixed-valence mesostructured hexadecavanadate
Abstract: Abstract A new mixed-valence hexadecavanadate H 2 [C(CH 2 OH) 3 NH 3 ] 0.5 [Cd(phen) 3 ] {[Cd(H 2 O)(phen) 2 ] 2 (V 16 O 38 Cl)} 0.5 {[Cd(H 2 O)(phen) 2 ] 2 (V 16 O 39 Cl)} 0.5 ·2H 2 O ( 1 ) (phen=1, 10′-phenanthroline) has been synthesized under the hydrothermal conditions. Its structure was established by single-crystal X-ray diffraction. Compound 1 crystallizes in the triclinic space group P −1 with cell parameters of a =15.943(2) A, b =17.744(2) A, c =21.420(3) A, α =82.955(2)°, β =79.479(2)°, γ =65.052(2)°, V =5394.3(12) A 3 , Z =2. It exhibits an unusual 2D supramolecular layer in which dimers of organic small molecules act as connectors.
