Title: Dynamic properties of natural rubber containing heat-treated carbon blacks
Abstract: The dynamic properties of a series of carbon black-filled natural rubber vulcanizates have been studied for their amplitude dependence. The HAF blacks studied possessed low, normal, or high structure, and one series of the high structure blacks was subjected to heat treatment up to 2700°C. The effect of heat treatment of the black was to increase the low amplitude dynamic shear modulus and hysteresis but to reduce the high strain tensile modulus. These effects were studied with respect to the dispersion of the black.
