Abstract: The San Juan River Basin lies in the states of Tamaulipas, Nuevo Leon, and Coahuila in the northeast region of the Republic of Mexico and covers an area of 11,800 square miles. The Physical, geological, and topographical conditions are favorable in a suitable meteorological situation to the formation of violent storms which cause disastrous floods in the main stream and tributaries.
