Title: Non-adherence in HIV: a life-threatening problem
Abstract: The importance of medication adherence in HIV is now increasingly recognized. In June, the European HIV Adherence Network (EHAN) held what has now become an annual event; EHAN’s objective is to help HIV physicians, pharmacists and nurses identify factors that influence adherence to long-term HIV therapy. Workshops were held throughout the 2-day event, held in Nice, to look specifically at the consequences of poor adherence, measuring adherence and developing strategies to implement in clinical practice, e.g. using practical tools, motivational interviewing and individualizing treatment regimens.
