The occurrence of metastable transitions and the effect of isotopic substitution on their relative abundances are discussed. Appearance potentials are given for the molecule and fragment ions in H2S, the molecule ions of HDS and D2S, and the principal metastable transition in each species. The latter process is interpreted as resulting from electronic transitions rather than from vibrational relaxation processes.Read More
