Correspondence in the forward direction, as far as measured, is quite good for dielectric and absorbing materials, as well, whereas dominant differences occur at medium scattering angles and towards backscattering. Polarization properties of nonspherical particles are different from those of spheres, too, especially for non-absorbing materials.
