Title: Pressures Toward Conformity In Group Counseling
Abstract: An exploration of the applicability of principles of group dynamics to counseling groups. Principles developed out of research on conforming behavior in small groups are used to interpret some of the common phenomena occurring in counseling groups as illustrative of the significance of group dynamics for the counselor and psychotherapist. The need is stressed for greater coordination and communication between the two disciplines‐ counseling and group dynamics.
