Abstract: Background: Choreoathetosis is a neurologic disorder, related to a basal ganglia lesion, where two types of involuntary movements coexist. Chorea consists of continual, rapid, brief, irregular movements that flow randomly from one body part to another. Athetosis is a slow form of chorea, with writhing movements that mainly affect to distal regions of the limbs.
